Where do I Start?

German University Alliance is a consortium of two universities. There are a lot of options for North American students to study in Germany besides Berlin and Munich, however at GUA, you can find out about opportunities at FUB as well as LMU.

We think that most importantly, you should spend some time researching and learning about fields that interest you, your academic goals as well as the time and financial commitment this may require.

GUA's website can make the search for programs that fit your need a little bit easier but if you need any specific answers please do not hesitate to contact us via email at info[at]germanuniversities[dot]org

You Should Know

For students looking for financial assistance and scholarship opportunities - the DAAD Scholarship-Database is a great resource for finding information on various kinds of DAAD funding for foreign students, graduates and post docs as well as on funding offered by other selected organizations.

Opportunities

Academic Opportunities including grants, scholarships and other funding are available through many different organizations. Whenever GUA receives any information that may be of interest to our audience, we post it under Academic Opportunities. Feel free to explore other sections of this website as well!

A little bit more

Both LMU and FUB have sections of their website for your search but remember to keep asking some questions - Is the program academically relevant for you? Do you foresee a career path? Can you financially sustain yourself? Do you like the location of this program? Have you looked at specific courses and course requirements? In no particular order, your search has to be tailored to your needs so that the experience of studying abroad is great from the first day onwards!
