Meet our Alumni,
current Students and Researchers
Brett Gooden graduated with his Bachelor’s in Political Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2011. He moved to Munich from Taiwan in 2016 to pursue his Master’s degree in American Studies at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität.
Sakina Gröppmaier did her Master’s degree in American Studies at LMU Munich from 2016-2018 after finishing her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto in English Literature and History. She is currently pursuing a PhD at the Amerika-Institut at LMU Munich.
Stephanie Shousha studied abroad from 2012-2013 at LMU Munich during her second year of undergraduate studies at McGill University in Canada. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Water Resources in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Montreal.
DL Moffitt is from Louisville, Kentucky and attended George Mason University at the time of his FU-BEST program. As a European History major, FU-BEST was a great fit for DL and now he holds a position as a Fulbright Teaching Fellow in Dresden, Germany.
An alumna of the FU-BEST program, Jennifer Pampolina describes following her interest in international affairs and German language to Berlin and the transformative nature of her study abroad experience.
April Moeller hails from the United States. She is a former Master student in Neuro-Cognitive Psychology at LMU and current PhD candidate at the Munich Center of the Learning Sciences.
As an International Relations and Sociology-Anthropology double-major, Toni Cerkez chose to participate in the FU-BEST program for it's research, study, and German language opportunities.
Canadian student Tachara Larocque is currently enrolled in the Master's Degree Program in Geology at LMU Munich.
After graduating from Clark University, Connor Ruby used FU-BEST as an opportunity to learn German and as a stepping stone to pursuing a Master's in Political Science at Freie Universitaet Berlin.
Steven Montero studied at LMU Munich within the Lewis & Clark Year of Study in Munich Program.
Addie Kolybaba is originally from Canada and an LMU alumna. She obtained her PhD in Biology from LMU Munich.
Ivan Imsland is currently enrolled as a full-time Bachelor student of North American Studies at the John F. Kennedy Institute of Freie Universität Berlin.
Miranda Arakelian studied at Freie Universität during her junior year with Berlin Consortium for German Studies (BCGS).
